Accommodation
Our goal is to create a home-like environment and to understand and know our residents and their families, while focusing on person-centred care. Person-centred care is a way of thinking and doing things that sees the residents as equal partners in planning, developing and monitoring care to ensure it meets their needs. This involves working with residents and their families to find the best way to individualize their care.
The Kiwanis Pavilion is located in Victoria and has private room accommodation for 122 residents; 116 rooms funded by Island Health, plus 6 private pay rooms. Each resident room has an ensuite toilet and sink, hospital-style bed, clothing closet, chest of drawers, and nurse call system. Residents can personalize their rooms with pictures, television and small additional furnishings.
The facility is subdivided into 10 small, secure units ranging in size from 9 to 19 residents. Each unit has its own dining and living room. There are 6 bathing rooms with specialized bathing equipment.
